Gosford Hill is delighted to announce its first ever Community Fair on October 13th 2011. Students, parents and members of the community are welcome to participate. We are being supported by Kidlington Gardening Society and Kidlington Camera Club whose members will do the judging.
There are lots of ways you can participate. If you take photos on a mobile or a camera, then why not enter a picture. The categories are: My family, Friends or Pets; Nature; Sports; Transport; My village or Oxford. There are lots of gardening and craft categories to enter… Have you grown a funny or odd shaped vegetable, a huge marrow or can you decorate a vegetable? Could you do a Halloween pumpkin, or have you grown a particularly large sunflower this summer? Could you grow a garden on a plate? How inspired could you get (any A Level artists)?
Some younger children might like to decorate a stone or pebble. Others will want to do a painting or drawing, or create a vegetable or fruit character? Other options include making models from recycled paper, making home-made birthday cards, or any three home-grown flowers.
There will also be the more traditional gardening exhibits such as leeks, potatoes, onions, apples, pears, Chrysanthemums and Dahlias.
