All students are required to attend morning and afternoon sessions and to be punctual.
A call to the Absence Line (01865) 855378 would be appreciated on the morning of the first absence. Absence from school must also be explained briefly by letter, which should be brought in to the Form Tutor on the first day back.
If an absence is anticipated for any reason, requests for leave of absence should be made in advance.
We strongly advise that holidays are not taken during term time.
We recommend that parents check the dates on the school calendar to avoid missing public examinations or other important events.
Provided notification has been given, and the appropriate permission granted, a student may leave school during school hours but must sign out so that in an emergency he or she can be accounted for.
If a student has been absent for more than three days without notification to the School, parents should expect to be approached formally by a member of staff. In cases of very poor attendance, the Educational Social Worker is asked to contact parents.
