Kidlington Primary Year 5 Multiskills Festival

On Thursday 30th November Gosford Hill School hosted the Kidlington Primary School Year 5 Multiskills Festival. The focus of the festival was on developing teamwork and resilience. Every students in Year 5 from our 5 Primary Partnership Schools of St Thomas More, North Kidlington, Edward Feild, Dr South’s & West Kidlington were invited. Over 170 children from across the partnership worked in teams to successfully complete a series of 10 activities that challenged them to work as a team and develop physical, social, cognitive and emotional skills.

Amongst the activities were stations such as the netball shooting challenge, giant target throw, standing long jump, cricket wicket challenge and bean bag target throw that tested pupil’s agility, balance, coordination and speed. As well as stations such as bench games, quicksand, agility relay course that required pupils to work together as a whole team to achieve success. The children worked together brilliantly and the teamwork on display was a joy to watch. The pupils were a real credit to their schools and staff.

The event was expertly run by 21 Year 10 sports leaders from Gosford Hill School who successfully managed to teach and lead their activities as well as keep students safe in a sports hall full of over 200 pupils and adults! Thank you and well done to: Steven Courtney, Cooper Whitford, Thomas Kavanagh, Ellie Madden, Jemima Clarke, Indrena Henry, Rebecca Walker, Ben Crone, Alex Neale, Maahir Miah, Jacob Soper, Abi Kent, Harriet Symes, Chris Willis, Ethan Lau, Ellie Pettifer, Jasmine Pettifer, Katie Archer, Joe Rogers, Sam George & Libby Giles.
