Evenlode House Charity Update North Oxfordshire Community Foodbank

Over the past few weeks, students in Evenlode have been bringing in a range of non-perishable items to donate to our house charity, North Oxfordshire Community Foodbank. NOCF is a voluntary group formed by members of local churches who aim to provide food parcels to struggling families or individuals in the North Oxfordshire area.

This year, Miss McCarthy organised competitions to see which tutor group could donate the most items to NOCF and which tutor group could be the first to have every member of the form donate an item. Congratulations go to EEMY for being the first group to have every student bring in a donation, whilst EADE topped the charts with a massive 91 items donated in total!

Overall, the eight tutor groups in the House donated a combined 576 items – a staggering display of generosity. Two Year 7 students even took it upon themselves to go to Sainsbury’s in Kidlington on the final morning to bring in an extra 19 items between them! Several students also then gave up their breaktime to assist in loading up the foodbank van on the Friday before half term.

As a House we would like to say a massive well done to all students who donated an item or items, and a massive thank you to parents at home for their support, encouragement and donations! I know that the students’ generous donations will go on to support many families in our local area and beyond.
