Sunday 26 March 2017.
This year on Friday 2nd December, Year 8 took a trip to Arras in France to discover French culture and to experience using the French Language they have learnt.
After a long journey, we finally got to the shuttle. When we arrived in France it was very fascinating to see how different this country is to ours. You could hear most of the students talking about the different houses as we passed by.
When we got the bakery everyone was so excited. We split into two groups. One group went to learn how to make croissants and the other went to learn about bread. In the kitchen, a man came to demonstrate how to cut the dough and roll it up into a croissant. Some students made very good shapes and some other attempts came out quite funny. In the bread making room, we learnt how to make bread and what equipment was used. The students also had a go with the bread and made very interesting shapes. Then all the students got a chance to buy something from the bakery.
We then made our way to the Christmas market. When we got there all the students were dying to go and have a look around it. The market was full of festive treats and homemade objects. Using the French language was fun and quite a challenge. In the centre of the market there was a giant Christmas tree that was also a ride. The stalls were very interesting. They had jewellery stalls, candle stalls and, of course, crêpe stalls. After that we all gathered up and went home.
