Sunday 26 March 2017.
It is with absolute delight that we announce the results for the Senior UKMT Mathematics Challenge. 13 of our Sixth Form students participated in the external exam a few weeks ago and we obtained 10 certificates! This is an extremely rigorous mathematics exam and is taken by tens of thousands of students around the country.
GOLD: Year 13 - Simon Hague (Best in School and Year) and Beren Wilkinson
SILVER: Year 13 – Emily Robinson and Peter Fazekas; Year 12 – Jeremy Mbararia (Best in Year and only one mark away from Gold!) and Tensei Rowden
BRONZE: Year 13 – Daniel Case and Matthew Boyle; Year 12 – Ellie Matthews and Royston Thorndycraft
Commendations must go to our other 3 participants Robert Sansom (Year 13), Katie Palmer and Nithyaa Eswaran (Year 12) who were only 1 or 2 marks from receiving a Bronze. Outstanding effort from all the students.
Simon Hague did so well that he has qualified for the first round of the British Mathematical Olympiad, which he will sit on Inset Day. Many congratulations to him for this exceptional achievement and we all wish him the very best of luck this Friday!
