Duke of Edinburgh Awards

We are delighted to have awarded 19 Bronze Awards to students in Years 11 and 13 since September. Fourteen Year 11 students who started the scheme in Year 10 have completed it. Students have to undertake an expedition, having learned how to map read without a phone, use a compass, set camp and cook outdoors. This cohort of students has had to endure some pretty rough conditions for the training and practise expeditions.

In addition, students complete a skill, physical activity and volunteering for between 3 and 6 months. Students have volunteered at animal shelters, with junior sports clubs, with Brownies or Rainbows. Skills development might be learning something new or progressing with an existing skill, such as dance, musical instrument, a sport technique, or martial arts.

We are very proud of our students who give so much of their time and energy to others and to developing themselves.

Congratulations to Archie Devlin, Alex Davies, Emma Davies, Rhiannan Davies, Leah Risby, Marcus Tranter, Jonah Clarke, Shellie Evans, Jenna Dempster, Isabel Powell, Emily Launchbury, Kitty Surrage,
Emily Linford, Amber Heaton, Asif Timu, Beren Wilkinson, Chester Wilkinson, Emily Young and Matthew Pike.

Mrs N Heydon, Mr S Williams, Miss A White, Mrs A Driscoll
