Year 10 Football Report

The Year 10 football team have progressed to the quarter finals of the English Schools FA Small Schools Trophy. The students were faced with a difficult tie in the last 32 playing the reigning champions from London.

Gosford scored in the first minute (Jonah Clarke) setting them up well in the quest for victory. Further goals (Piers Walton, Ben Stewart and Jonah Clarke) in the 1st half meant Gosford were 4-0 up at half time. Gosford withstood a lot of pressure in the last 10 minutes of the first half and throughout the second half. An early goal from Haverstock meant a nervous 2nd half before Jamie Hudson settled the tie and Gosford won 5-1.

The team have another home tie in the quarter finals and face the winners of Ormiston Six Villages Academy and Buckswood School. Many thanks to all the parents who supported the students on a cold and wet afternoon.
