PiXL Edge

The PiXL Edge is a framework to develop and accredit students with those personal attributes essential for employability and life.

Students in Year 7 and 8 are encouraged to complete the Apprentice Level. Students do this by completing 2 activities for each of 5 Attributes – Leadership, Organisation, Resilience, Initiative and Communication. By completing these activities the students demonstrate they have these skills. These are then recognised and celebrated. By completing The Edge programme, students can gain confidence that they have skills useful for life and employment and that they have experiences to write and talk about when making future applications.

PiXL Edge Award Evening

At Gosford Hill School we begin the programme at the start of the summer term in Year 7 and students have until the end of Year 8 to complete it.

Each student has a personal log in to the website, where there are hundreds of activities they can choose from to complete the scheme. Students need to write up about 100 words explaining what they will do and then another 200 words to say what they have gained from doing it. Support is given on the website and in school to help them complete this. Time and support is also given during Student Development Time.
